Steps for hedge trimming:
- You should trim the hedge about two or three times a year.
- The optimal time is in June, August and then again before the winter break in October.
- With electric garden shears it is quick and easy
- Trim the hedge whenever ivy shoots grow out of the hedge. Cut the shoots flat against the hedge by cutting along the hedge with the hedge trimmer.
- Be careful to only cut the tips and not to cut any strands of ivy, as this will cause the strand to die.
- Trim the top of the hedge as well. This will keep the hedge even in height and always look well-groomed.
As garden shears I use a Cordless grass and shrub shears from Gardena , which I highly recommend. Therefore, I'm providing you with a link to the shears: Gardena Cordless Grass and Shrub Shears .
In the long video documentation, I used the Bosch EasyHedgeCut 18-45 Solo cordless hedge trimmer . I highly recommend this hedge trimmer, as it's under €100 (this is not an affiliate link).
